Varsity Project Mural

The Morley Momentum has been working with Varsity Project Morley to organise a mural on the side of their building on Rudloc Street to add more colour and life to the community. We are thrilled to announce this mural is now complete and we could not be happier with the results. How many 80s icons can you spot ?

Morley Mixer

An ongoing event with business Networking event held generally twice a year allowing Morley merchants to mingle and build local community.

On Thursday 28 November 2019 we hosted our most recent Morley Mixer.

Pocket Park

In 2018, we applied for a Stronger Communities grant for the redevelopment of infrastructure at the Pocket Park on Progress Street. We were granted funds for this and ran this project in partnership with City of Bayswater.

Stage one was completed in November 2019 along with an official opening celebration.

Meet the Candidates

A co-hosted event with Bayswater Collective at the Morley Noranda Rec Club on 25/9/19 which gave the candidates a platform to introduce themselves and answer questions from the community.

Morley Art Walk

town centre? Checkout the Art Walk Map and treat yourself to a wander around Morley.

Progress Street Party

Held in Progress Street, the heart
of Morley, on 7th April 2019.

Thanks to our major sponsors City
of Bayswater, Galleria and Bendigo Bank we were able to create a proper
festival with acrobats, performers, singers, traditional dancers and of course
food stalls and other entertainment.

The Progress Street Party was the first of its kind and got together 7000 people! A great success!

Coventry Village – Melting Pot of Cultures
A vibrant mural representing the dominant cultures of Morley through images of people and places.

Pippa McManus – 5 cultures
5 Women representing the top 5 cultures (Vietnamese, Indian, Polish, Italian and Malaysian) in Morley, painted by local but nationally renowned Pippa McManus. – This project was completed on 23 December 2018 on the Rivers building.

Water pump station mural
The living streams mural project is being organised by The Water Corporation in conjunction with the City of Bayswater. The Morley Momentum was asked to assist by sourcing submissions of interest. Peter Ryan was our preferred artist and completed this mural in November 2018. The art work is called Living Leaves.

The High Glow by George Wilkinson
This was our first project in Morley. We want to make Morley a more vibrant and funky town centre that brings more community members out into Morley. The blank wall on the side of a restaurant on Progress Street was the perfect opportunity for a mural.

Ninja Warrior Park Battle

Spectators gathered as local gyms around Morley put their best people forward to compete in Morley’s new ninja warrior park obstacle course to win some great prizes donated by local businesses.

Vertical Gardens

3 Pallets turned into vertical gardens. Pallets were prepped and plants collected from local community members, whilst some were purchased. The pallets were installed on the wall of Chatters Restaurant on Progress Street, in November 2018.
